Programs
Community Programs
Peanuts Soccer
Peanuts Soccer is designed as a parented program for children ages
3-5 who want to learn soccer basics, have fun and meet new friends.
Practices will be organized on community fields. Games would be
organized with neighbouring teams. The program would likely run
Saturday mornings in May & June.
Parents or community volunteers interested in assisting are
encouraged to contact us at info@richmondknobhill.ca or call Liz at
403-229-3253. We are also interested in speaking with local businesses
that might be interested in sponsoring the program.
Kidzinc Schoolage Care
Kidzinc provides creative recreations and inspired quality out-of-school case at the Rutland Park community Centre with service to Killarney, Holy Name and the SJL schools. Registration is ongoing. Please call the office at (403) 240-2059 or visit their website at www.calgarykidzinc.ca
The Federation of Alberta Naturalists (FAN)
The Federation of Alberta Naturalists (FAN) is a non-profit organization that is delivering the Young Naturalist Club (YNC) program in Alberta. We believe that YNC is a program from which many families with young children within Calgary's Communities and Community Associations could benefit.
YNC is a nature education program available to all families throughout the province. The goal of YNC is to teach youth and their families about nature by providing them with instructional and educational resources that promote outdoor activities, observation of nature, environmental stewardship, and healthy living (more details available at www.fanweb.ca).
YNC is especially aimed at children and families in urban settings, as it is often thought that there are few opportunities for nature activities in the city. The YNC strives to show children that there are marvelous things to discover about nature in places as close to home as their own back yard.
